Dear Parents,

We have all returned to BPY after the chagim happy and full of energy. We have lots of work ahead of us! The Mesibat HaChumash, learning te'amim, moving forward with our pesukim and more.
This week we learned how difficult it was for Noach after he built the ark, to bring all the animals aboard and to be concerned that each animal should have their particular food which they needed. We learned that Noach and his family worked day and night throughout the flood in order to make sure the animals were safe. This was not easy work. Noach himself even came to our class to tell us how difficult it was for him! He talked about the chameleon and the lion who were both starving.
In Parshat HaShavua we learned about the Tower of Babel, why it was built and what the punishment was for those who participated. Since Noach was a tzadik (righteous man), another tzadik, Binyamin HaTzadik, came to tell us about how you can help a poor woman even if there is not a penny left in your tzedakah box.
To Do Before the Mesibat HaChumash: This week the pesukim were sent home with your children. Each child has his/her own passuk and the recording of Rav Ronen reciting it. If anyone is having trouble learning his/her passuk, I am happy to help his/her practice.
Please make sure that each student who received their sifron (little reader) over the chagim returns it to school by Monday. I realize that it was difficult for some of the children, therefore I sent it over the chagim and shabbat to allow for more time to read it.
Shabbat Shalom,
Rav Yohanan
