Dear Parents,
The BPY Second Graders really enjoyed Chumash this week!
We have been studying Chumash and we even learned a new taamei hamikra called "Maarich Tarha."
We checked our taamei hamikra chart and it turns out that we have learned almost all of them - so we are getting ready to celebrate with a class party!
In Chumash we learned about Noah's age when he entered the ark and on which day and month that occurred. We learned that a flood is not pleasant at all, especially if it continually pours for 40 days and 40 nights.
We looked outside this week and experienced what it feels like when it rains without stopping.
One of the things we studied this week was that it was actually Hashem who closed the ark's door. The students wondered why Hashem closed it and not Noah. We found out the answer! Over Shabbat please ask your children to explain why.
Today we met Yaakov Avinu, who came to class to tell us about the unpleasant encounter he had with his brother Esav.
Shabbat shalom!
Rav Yohanan
