Tu B'Shvat Assignment

Dear Parents,

Today we read a book about a student who researched a type of tree and wrote their own book about it. To reflect this,  I am sending home an unique assignment in honor of Tu B'Shvat. It is due this Monday, February 2.

Each child will be researching a tree of their choosing, and will be receiving  a book to complete about it.

The assignment is as follows:

1. Choose a tree (examples include almond tree, orange tree,apple tree, etc).

2. Cover Page: Write the name of tree in Hebrew (you can check Google Translate), your name, and draw a picture of the tree.

3.Page 1:Identity Card: Fill out the details of the tree

• the tree name           שם העץ
• trunk-shape and color     הגזע
• leafs-shape color and thickness   עלים
• fruit-shape color size taste flavor   פרי 

. Please look for pictures of the tree online to figure out the answers.

4. Page 2: SKIP. We will do this in school.

5. Page 3: Print out a picture of the tree and paste it on the page. If you don't have a color printer, please e-mail it to me and I will print it out for you.
